    In addition to be being light, efficient, and recoil absorbent, this particular stock is adaptable to an individuals optimal pull (lenght of stock) and comb (height of stock). Traditional solid stocks don't fit everyone, kinda like wearing shoes that don't quite fit. After adjustment, this stock brings the rifle and sight picture back the same every time you bring it up to your shoulder. Like most Magpul products, the quality is pretty close to untouchable (IMO) and the technology is consistently state of the art.

    Yes, there is a practical reason for this stock. I shoot a Magpul PRS with and accushot - my preference for still shooting targets, coyotes, etc. But, I don't carry my rifle around hunting.
