I had another thread for this gun a while back but cant seem to find it. I have lowered my price on this rifle now since I am getting married and could use the extra funds.

The gun is in nearly mint condition. It really is a must see. The pics are nice but I think the gun looks even better in person. Feels great in the hands also.

This is a first year production rifle which means it is not only a Model 1889 but was made in 1889 also. This is the first year that Marlin went to the side eject. It has a 24" Octagon barrel, original wood and sights. The markings are all strong and so is the rifling. Gun has color case hardening on several parts as seen in the pictures. Caliber is 32-20.

The only reason this gun reaches the market is because I dont load for the 32-20 and have nothing else that shoots it so I just dont shoot this gun.

    Who refinished it?

I was told when I bought it that Doug Turnbull restored the gun a while back. I called them and they said that their older projects may or may not have records.....they could not find one.

She is in no way making me sell the gun......just figured I could use the extra money at this time. My dream Marlin is a 1888 anyways. Like I said though, had this one been in a caliber that I already shoot such as 38-40 it would not even be on the block.

Free bump, because I like the ol' lever actions. Beautiful rifle to say the least and I sure would have like to have seen some before and after pics. I love the ol' patina, weathered, worn out, used look on these rifles.

I would have loved to see them also.

I love the worn out look also but this rifle will have NO problem going another 123 years. Everything is good and tight and functional.

    Gotta love that 32-20!

Best of luck with the sale man, it's a beautiful rifle!

    Peace,
    Evan

Its not that I dont love the 32-20......I have shot it a few times.....but have so many other odd ball calibers and I really dont want to jump into yet another caliber that I only have one of.

    Beautiful rifle.

Tks Evan for the govt mule:). Seen them a few times opening for almond bro's and have seen lead fill in for dickey betts.

    Not a problem.

Understood, I wish more ammo makers loaded them... I would love to own a rifle like this and/or a revolver chambered in 32-20. ;-p
