The 1874 Gras was the first metallic cartridge bolt action rifle the French used in service. Mechanically it is all in good shape. They reworked these rifles in the 1880s. This one was made in 1875 and is the full length rifle version with all steel parts. Wood has no splits, cracks or other structural problems, just a bunch of dings and such. The bore is pretty rough since the cartridges used black powder. Cartridges can still be found for these rifles for about $4-5 per round. I do not have the bayonet for it nor the cleaning rod.
I am not selling this as a shooter but as a nice wall hanger or collectible. There is no rust of this weapon, what you see in the pictures is patina.
If there are any other angles you would like just pm me.
Looking to get $250, or just offer what you have to trade. Pretty open as this is taking up safe space.
