Can shotguns not be shipped? Probably cheaper than gas money. A money order and shipping would probably be less than $20.
    Just sayin.

    Where are you located?

Shipping any gun requires an ffl, if im not mistaken. Rather keep it simple, ftf and cash.

You are mistaken. From the ATF website:

    http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/unlicensed-persons.html#shipping-firearms-usps

    Frequently Asked Questions
    Unlicensed Persons

Q: May a nonlicensee ship a firearm through the U.S. Postal Service?

A nonlicensee may not transfer a firearm to a non-licensed resident of another State. A nonlicensee may mail a shotgun or rifle to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. The Postal Service recommends that long guns be sent by registered mail and that no marking of any kind which would indicate the nature of the contents be placed on the outside of any parcel containing firearms. Handguns are not mailable. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun.

    [18 U.S.C. 1715, 922(a)(3), 922(a)(5) and 922 (a)(2)(A)]

Simple is good, too, but you can legally ship a shotgun to a resident of the state in which you reside. FFLs like to make $25-50 for 5 minutes of paperwork and are required for shipping guns to other states. When shipping to other states FFLs are only required on the receiving end. They will gladly charge $25-50 on each end of a transaction, even if it isn't necessary. Sometimes $25-50 is a deal breaker.

GLWS. If you decide to ship it your sale might be smoother.
