looking for a starter combat rifle

looking for a starter combat rifle (ak,at, etc). since its my first one I would like to keep it cheap and simple. let me know what you got.

Go pick yourself up a stripped AR lower for about $100. Nothing simpler than a hunk of metal. Then you can slowly built it with whatever parts you like.

Why don't you pick up a smith and Wesson ar15 sport...it's about $700 with tax brand new with warranty...doesn't have all the bells and whistles of $$$ rifles but it'll get the job done
