Due to an unexpected spike in my December expenses, I've come to the uncomfortable decision to sell my CMP Garand.
I personally picked this one out from the Anniston, Alabama CMP store. The criteria I was looking for was a good shooter with a "relic" look to it. While there were many others there that had better park jobs and new stocks, I really preferred something that looked weathered.
Some highlights:
I believe it's a WWII period Springfield Armory receiver (380XXXX serial #). Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Milled trigger guard
SA Barrel with pretty damn good specs (1+ muzzle and 3 throat reading). The rifling looks good with shiny grooves and well-defined lands.
"Original" SA stock from a Danish G M/50 (see my pics and more info here: http://www.odcmp.co/Services/Rifles/Danish.htm).
I have yet to shoot it as the illustrious life of a single father tends to keep me from having any free time whatsoever.
Asking $700 firm. You get the rifle, all the CMP goodies, and a nice CMP case. Located in Baton Rouge but I work in Gonzales.
I will do my best to be fair with who calls dibs but I will not hold out long if I have cash waived in front of me from another person. First with cash buys the stash!
Finally, please don't waste my time lowballing. I'd prefer to sell this but if nobody ponies up then I'll just take out a personal loan.
