Long before this story aired, I knew of the problem, the stories and the corporate denial and coverup. The video is about the infamous Remington 700 safety issue. People died. What scorched the earth with me was the fact that the problem was pointed out years before. What’s more is one of the engineers found a fix that would cost Remington all of a few cents per rifle to fix. I don’t remember the story in great detail, but I know that all this took place a few million rifles before people died and the lawsuits began. I don’t know if the Sig situation is anywhere near the same, but I’m aware that things like this can happen.

Oh man. I reckon that Sig can keep denying, but looks like these “isolated incidents” that they’re calling “user error” are adding up and most of them (the documented cases) seem to be occurring with law enforcement. So, Sig Sauer can keep denying and blaming, but it looks awfully suspect when they’re pointing at professionals and insisting their product is flawless. Just listen at all the incidents in this huge lawsuit… and what about our servicemen? I wonder if the US military will reconsider such a poor choice now.

At this point I’m wondering if I shouldn’t contact the guy who bought my P320 and give him the option of a buy back just to rid myself of any chance of liability should he have any such incident.
