My granddad owns one, but he hasn't shot it since the 50's. He said it kicked like a mule. Unfortunately, he wasn't much of a gun enthusiast, and never bothered cleaning his - the barrel is trashed.

I tried finding some ammo for it, just to give him a few boxes, and the only manufacturer I could find was Norma.

I really hate seeing those ole girls sporterized, but yours is a beautiful gun. 1917 acceptance? Whoever worked her over did a pretty good job. It looks like it was made that way.

It was sported prior to 1970 not sure who but has been a great carcano. Someone told me years back a mfg bought a supply of unused arsenals and did the conversions. I have seen a few with the same stock and sights.

I need to take the time and check the markings.

My grouping shows better with the 156-160gr over lite load at 100yd it shoots about 4" high on zero site. If I get a chance to buy another full military version I would buy a second in 6.5. I am always in the market for the stripper clips if anyone has any.
I would also like to add a Mas to my collection in semi-auto Landy's had a nice bolt mas.

Heres one you guys might like to look at. It is a cutaway of a Model 38 Carcano in 7.35mm. (With the second recoil bolt behind the rear trigger guard screw it could also be one of the ones chambered in 7.92x57mm)
