I had been to approximately 100 of the Cities Listed.
Sadly I have never been off the North American Continent, but have been across both north and south borders on short trips. Been to Montreal Canada and Monterrey Mexico many years ago. Believe me in saying I care nothing about ever going back near those locations. I DO want to travel the world and have many places on my bucket list to see one day, but with the world today in such turmoil I'm not sure I would be able to go to some of these places.

I will state I have a few places I might go and if anyone has been to these locations I would love to hear about them. #1 Budapest Hungary (wifes ancestry homeland) and we hear its a beautiful and friendly place to go see. #2 Germany, #3 Northern UK (Scotland area), #4 Croatia coastal cities (looks beautiful), #5 Ireland, #6 Australia, #7 New Zealand. Thats the short list

My most visited and favorite country was Brazil. Fun loving people that know how to party and love people from other countries.

Many of my 9 years of Merchant Marine stories may be X rated. Here are a few rather mild ones. Three of us were involved in a big fight in a Saigon bar and escorted away by US Army Security after my friend threw a TV through a window.. Being stopped by Army Security with a rifle pointed my way while walking in the country outside Da Nang when I wanted to venture into the mountains and refused to obey his commands to stop several times. Getting aboard a US fast boat docked in Saigon and ordered to leave by Korean Marines. Being the only American in a jungle bar in the Mekong delta near Vung Tau when a group of Viet Cong entered. A Lady had me sit in a booth beside her against the wall in a dimly lit room, lower my head and not speak English until the group of armed Viet Cong left. Most stayed in the bar in the front but several walked through the dance hall in the back where we were seated.

Besides Hopedale and Venice I have been to Canada, Mexico, Costa Rico, Brazil, Trinidad, Bahamas, France, Netherlands, Senegal, Republic of Congo, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, and Tanzania. Some travel was vacation related, some for work, but the majority was for hunting.

I have permanent residence in New Zealand. Lived there almost 2 years. I could renew my passport and get another permanent resident visa. Haven't even renewed my passport, as I have no desire to go back.

I have visited 38 of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, UK and Belgium. Mostly for work. I saw very little of most of them except the inside of a server room. I did do some sightseeing in Brussels and Singapore. Very interesting.

I was in the Navy, but I was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas at the Naval Air Station there. So, no I didnt travel overseas while in the Navy. But, I have been to about 20 different countries since I got married. Now, I am not leaving home. Too much going on. Plus, I just turned 80 in October and dont want all the drama that is happening today.

I have never been out of the US except for a trip to the Bahamas prob 20 years ago (and it was awesome). Where is you favorite place you have visited, and why? Maybe great scenery or the local people. I need to take a nice trip somewhere before I am too old and feeble to do so.

Oh man, you need to get out and see the world. There is just so much to see.

Contrary to what a lot of people say, I think England is a great first place to go for international trips. It's a relatively short flight and everyone speaks English there, so it's easy to get around.

The last time I went it was surreal to be in the various castles where kings and queens made decisions around 1000 years ago...or even back when the US was becoming the US.

If that's not something you're interested in, parts of Italy are really cool to go to as well. We really enjoyed Rome and Sicily. While you're in Europe, I'd recommend spending 2 days in Paris and doing all of the touristy things there.

I'm happy to answer any specific questions regarding the above destinations. I've also been to parts of China, South Africa, Central America, and plenty of the Caribbean Islands in the past few years as well if you have any interest in going there (though I wouldn't recommend China right now).

Edit to add: If you're looking for something even easier, check out cruises to places like Honduras, Belize, and Mexico.
