If you want the most powerful rifle just because, there was a company making 20mm Vulcan round rifles. I have a single live 20mm round I picked up years ago. Electric primed. It dwarfs 50 BMG. $12k for a mag fed BA.

20 Mike mikes are huge! I have some spent brass from my time in. I thought I read something stating that each individual round called for a tax stamp and it was very costly. Any truth to that or am I way off here?

I also remember firing the CIWS while underway once doing work ups. 50 rounds of 20mm per second or 3,000 rounds per minute. That’s one bad ass machine that kept me sleeping well at night (well during the day really since I worked nights)

I've never read anything like that over the years. They sell live practice rounds on the website I posted above (and currently on gunbroker). I have only seen YT video of the CIWS firing, which you have experienced live. Very nasty. I also have a 30mm GAU-8 inert round, and an empty case from the Gulf war/A-10. A buddy of mine served in the AF over there and brought it back for me.

I was looking at the Barrett M82A1 seems like a better deal then the M107A1 if you never suppress it. I'm sure someone on here has shot both. Any input would be nice.

Any rifle over 50 caliber is considered a destructive device to the ATF. So in reading that I am pretty sure you have to get a special tax stamp. A civilian can own any thing they want with the right tax stamp if they can afford it. It is how they get around the constitution by using the constitution's taxing powers.

You sir I assume are thinking of ANZIOIRONWORKS.COM.... he still makes em. But he only takes a few orders a year, as he makes them by hand and machines all the parts himself.
