I need help deciding which optic I should put on my ar15. Something I can zoom with for about 100-400 yards. But also something that is not going to break the bank.

My suggestion would be an optic from Primary Arms next door in Houston TX. Most all they sell of their own PA brand has a lifetime warranty, and I have purchased a LOT of stuff from PA. Great customer service, excellent value, and very reasonable shipping charges. Got a 3x9x44mm scope for $95, and a bunch of other options too. Rifle scopes or red dot optics.

I know choices are endless, but lately I've been using this LPVO from Atibal. Much to my surprise their 1x10 is amazing. In fact they just come out with 1x12. Sometimes they have "open box" model for $500. I like this optic so much I got 3 of them. Just my 2cent!

Primary Arms LPVO are pretty nice. Price is good and excellent customer service. I’ve got the 1x6 with the ACSS illuminated reticle

If the Burris RT-6 is in your budget, it's a good choice. If it's in the top of your budget, it's probably the best choice.

I also have an Atibal, and they are great for the price.

The others mentioned are fine, but I'll add another option. The Vortex Strike Eagle can be had with a mount for $300 if that's your budget. These are very popular. The other two I mentioned would be better though.

Primary Arms with the American Defense Mount then add Midwest or Troy backup iron sights.
you can go with 1-6 or 1-8, depending upon your budget

My vote is vortex 1-6x strike eagle with ar-bdc illuminated. Great scope for great price. Good in close, and consistent hits at 400 all day. 500-600 can be done, but you better have some time behind the rifle if you're going to do it consistently (without blind luck)
