Oh boy. Need to make sure that Cassidy’s dumb ass doesn’t vote for this if it makes it to the Senate

Knowing Cassidy he will talk about how much he supports the second amendment when asked about this avoiding saying he will or will not vote yes for this and then when the time comes of course he will happily vote yes.

    Passed the House, 217-213

Two Republicans, Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Penn., and Chris Jacobs, R-N.Y., broke with their party to vote yes on the bill. Five Democrats, Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas; Rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine, Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, D-Texas, Rep. Kurt Schrader, D-Oreg., and Rep. Ron Kind, D-Wisc. broke with their party to vote no.

    Assault Weapons Ban of 2021

This bill makes it a crime to knowingly import, sell, manufacture, transfer, or possess a semiautomatic assault weapon (SAW) or large capacity ammunition feeding device (LCAFD).

The prohibition does not apply to a firearm that is (1) manually operated by bolt, pump, lever, or slide action; (2) permanently inoperable; (3) an antique; or (4) a rifle or shotgun specifically identified by make and model.

The bill also exempts from the prohibition the following, with respect to a SAW or LCAFD:

    • importation, sale, manufacture, transfer, or possession related to certain law enforcement efforts, or authorized tests or experiments;
    • importation, sale, transfer, or possession related to securing nuclear materials; and
    • possession by a retired law enforcement officer.
The bill permits continued possession, sale, or transfer of a grandfathered SAW, which must be securely stored. A licensed gun dealer must conduct a background check prior to the sale or transfer of a grandfathered SAW between private parties.

The bill permits continued possession of, but prohibits sale or transfer of, a grandfathered LCAFD.

Newly manufactured LCAFDs must display serial number identification. Newly manufactured SAWs and LCAFDs must display the date of manufacture.

The bill also allows a state or local government to use Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program funds to compensate individuals who surrender a SAW or LCAFD under a buy-back program.

I urge everyone here to email and call Senators and Cassidy and Kennedy to stop this UnConstitutional gun ban!

Hearing that this doesn't have much chance to pass the Senate, but that is what I also thought about the last one. And it never hurts to have your voice heard on this issue. I can tell you for sure that the other side is making a push towards our politicians to push this nonsense through. Let Cassidy and Kennedy know that LA cares about and supports 2A!

Again the real problem here is that this law is unenforceable in the real world without a register of those grandfathered items. They know this, and so does everyone else with a brain.

Maybe. Maybe not. They can still Jack you up if you are on the wrong side of the political divide.

You may be able to prove your innocence after spending tens of thousands of dollars to defend yourself but you you won’t get that money or time back.

It’s another way to persecute political dissents and disarm us.
