Hello fellow shooters and inshore anglers. I usually use artificial for specs and reds but want the option to bring live shrimp especially in the summer months. My boat doesn’t have a live well and started looking at the aerated coolers and buckets. Would like recommendations from those of you who have used them for shrimp. Looking at 50 shrimp capable. Any help appreciated!

I use the 30 quart Engle bait box. Can put up to 200 live shrimp in it. They make a smaller 13 quart. Magellan also makes one.

Thanks. I was looking at them and the Frabill 19 qt units. Have you had any pump problems? Reading user reviews it looks like they have or had many pump problems. I like the idea of a ice chest type opposed to the bucket style.

What size ice chest are you using? I’ve toyed with a DIY using an ice chest also. I’ve got two cool bubble aerators that came with a 3.5 gallon insulated bucket. If it was bigger I’d probably use that but the insulation is coming apart.
    an old 48qt marine igloo.

I have had to replace a pump, but I used them nearly everyday. I fish 160+ days a year. I replaced the Engle pump with the cheaper bubbles pump and roll on.

Nice!!! If I lived closer to the coast I’d do my damn east to do that too!! I’ll be spending a lot of time in Port Sulphur when my brothers camp gets repairs finished from Ida….
