Baton Rouge Gang Violence

Anyone else been following the escalation of BBG TBG 4KT gang violence over the past months ?

Almost every night they are slinging lead at each other.

I’m not really familiar with gangs in BTR but whenever there is little traffic or a dwell in traffic at night I can hear faint gunfire several nights out of the week. Most of it is well north of me but it’s still there.

What do “BBG”, “TBG” and “4KT” stand for?

Are they the gangs associated with the “Rap Music ‘Sets’” around here?

I saw an article about three months ago and meant to go back and read it but forgot about it.

I can ASSUME BBG are from “The Bottom” - old McKinley area and not far from LSU.

TBG I ASSUME to be North Baton Rouge.

Bloods? I had no idea.

If there isn’t a task force currently for these groups then I don’t have much fair in our current administration.

There is a subreddit called : DaDumbWay where you can see snippets of the actions and beef.
It’s crazy when you realize that a large percentage of the violence in BR area is from such a small related group.

There are already a few places in BR that LEO’s don’t seem to tread. That’s a pretty good indicator for you.

We’ve been getting a few of the GSW victims. More times than not they’re shot up but nothing life threatening, they run and duck and nobody seems to be a decent shot. We did get a head shot in the other night but not a fatality. I often have that nagging feeling we might get visitors behind those. When the Trauma alert is called we usually try to go grab them from the ER first thing and move them further into the hospital, hide them in CT or Surgery or just up to the unit and the ER can pretend they were DOA or whatever. They immediately become a number and don’t even show in our system. Prolly just a matter of time before our luck runs out. We have sketchy plans laid out for active shooter scenarios but in all honesty, ain’t nobody packing much in scrubs. I bet before long we’ll have more than one or two deputies hanging out in the ER.
We are pretty close to an active area and get the occasional violent crime on campus but for the most part they don’t bring it in the hospital. No guarantee walking to your car tho.

I think if somebody don’t get a grip on things we will start seeing a lot worse soon. There are already a few places in BR that LEO’s don’t seem to tread. That’s a pretty good indicator for you.

Dang. Hopefully, I will be working elsewhere or retired before BR becomes the next Chicago. I’d really rather not have to deal with using deadly force to defend myself and all that follows.

Black democrats don't care if these garbage are killing each other or innocents caught in the crossfire. The democrats should change their political icon from a donkey to an ostrich; and their party slogan to: "If you don't acknowledge the problem, it just goes away!"

As for four more years? Not only will she win Saturday; there will never again be a republican mayor in Baton Rouge, and there may never be a white democrat one!

When that St. George tax base finally pulls away, this place is in deep doo-doo!

This has been slowly ramping up since after Katrina. There was a spike just after and it's been slowly getting worse. I don't go anywhere without my cc and have an easy access firearm in my vehicle when I have to go to places like Baton Rouge, New Orleans or even Hammond. You never know these days when you'll need to defend yourself at the drop of a hat no matter where you are.

Man when they were getting that petition together and it was on the news I was rooting for them! But I knew there was no way EBR was gonna let them go with their money. Tell me we don’t already live in a socialist republic.

Jeez, I looked at the subreddit out of curiosity, and I think I lost some brain cells trying to decipher what was being said. How has a group lost their command of the english language in such a small amount of time?

Truth. When the St. George/BR lines were drawn BR thought getting The Mall of Louisiana was a huge $$$$ win. With the proliferation of on line shopping the Mall of Louisiana like the Cortana Mall will go into decline. Another consideration the $$$$ spent at the mall by local residents of neighboring Parishes will dry up. On line shoppers are now taxed in their zip codes. Agree with Emporer. In time tax revenues will decline. As crime creeps in customers will avoid the businesses. I hope I am wrong. Glad my business and property are in Ascension Parish.

Everyone is a rapper, can't throw a rock in baton rouge without hitting a rapper and they all talking **** about one another. It is so nihilistic, they have no future. They aren't cartels, they aren't running anything, they are living at home with their moms not making enough money to amount to anything until they end up in jail or dead before they are even old enough to legally drink...it is pathetic
