A few weeks ago I saw a thread that had a detailed bill of sale. It was recomended for the sale of a firearm to a "john doe".

SO...first question: is this document an exceptable way to go, or should I sell it through someone with an FFL?

2nd question: who posted that doc. and where can i find it?

    Thanks to all, J

There is only so much due diligence a seller can personally do. I think if you verify the individuals identification, allow them to inspect the firearm and then draft a document (as well as copy the ID) that is the most that could be expected by a reasonable person. Should anything happen involving your old firearm with/without the new owner, I am of the opinion that it would be hard to say that that involvement could have been mitigated had you done anything different.
