So today I got some me time and made a bolt knob for a rem. 700 for a customer. He told me to make whatever I wanted so I did. Unfortunately I didnt have any Rem. brass but you get the idea.
The knob is tapered on the large od. The shoulders get larger the farther away from the bolt it goes and the radius's get a little deeper

It looks cool, but why not just engrave the primer and markings instead of just jamming it in the back?

You could have at least used a Lapua case ;)

So after looking at that and wondering how a 6th grader got a hold of my lathe I decided to do a version 2.

It is .010 under size on the od compared to a Badger knob

Can you thread the bolt handle?

I had to seed mine to AZ. I started a thread a few years ago about threading and couldn't find anyone doing it round these parts.

    I like it.

    Thanks for the props

I dont thread bolts. I really should though.
I send all my bolt work to 300sniper (Robert) who's in N.Calif. I can provide his contact info if anyone wants it

So if you pay someone to thread a bolt handle, you might want to ask what threads they are putting on it. The one on the left is a 10-32 stud. The one on the right is threaded 5/16-24.

Which would you rather have ? I personally would be ticked.
