BS classifieds becoming LA sportsman?

Is the classified section here turning into the next louisiana sportsman? In the last 6 months ive had several messages from people saying they will take an item and then zero response after. Ive also noticed there seems to be a large number of used guns priced well above new cost. This seems to be common on LA sportsman but has never been so bad here. I have my suspicions on why it happens on sportsman as im sure many others do as well.

I’ve done about a million deals here (ok, not quite a million but a lot) and I’ve only had problems with 3 people over the years. Those 3 people are on my “never deal with” list. Many others I’ve had multiple great encounters with. I do my best to always leave honest feedback.
As to the pricing, people can ask whatever they want for their items. It’s really not an issue. Price it too high and it’ll sit. They might attract that one sketchy somebody that’ll pay the premium due to some sketchy circumstances, so they’re taking their chances dealing with them. Again, none of my concern.
I don’t think things will ever reach Louisiana Sportsman status here…

I honestly believe there are more scammers then real ads on Louisiana Sportsman. Almost a 2 to 1 ratio.

I gave up Louisiana Sportsman years ago. I agree with your statement about used gun prices here. Response with others here has been positive and I do not recall a No Show on a Buy, Sell, Trade yet.

Nah, I don't think so. I've seen overpriced guns and parts on here for a decade so it's nothing new. And like Magdump said, they tend to sit. I think at least some newer people see MSRP and use that not realizing street price is usually lower. Occasionally you'll get someone who lists at double but I don't see that too often. And historically there's always always been guys who ask more when the political heat is on trying to make a buck
Unfortunately that and tire kickers just come with the territory. I tend not to take anything serious unless its an established member with feedback.

I do not think you would see these $900, $1,000, $1,000, $1,100, $1,150 and $1,400 firearms on the 1st page in the classifieds 10 years ago.

I still find something I'm interested in on there every now and then, but there's been a big deluge lately with the scammers posting 20 ads in a row and creating a lot of static. I usually do a quick scan of the pics and if I see something I check the name. Pretty easy to spot the scammers and if it's a new name I check the born-on date of the acct. any accts created in the last couple of years are HIGHLY suspect.

Again, people are just trying to see what they can get. What's the worst thing that can happen when you see an overpriced item and offer less for it? They say no.... I don't understand why some people get so annoyed by it. I guess they're too shy to negotiate. Buncha snowflakes on a gun site!

I don't think its so much that people don't want to negotiate as much as the perception that its intentional. I have a difficult time believing people don't realize that their used glock 17 that cost 549-599 plus tax isn't worth 750. its not rare, they aren't unavailable etc. Or the 599 psa ar pistols for 1000 - 1200. it just seems off to me...

Might as well list em high. I had a AR pistol listed recently at a realistic $500 bucks. I got one bite, and that was for a trade.
