CCW Renewal Training

Thought I had read somewhere that the training for renewal wasn't necessarily a CCW class like the initial training. It just needed to be some type of certified firearms training. Anyone know about this? I am looking at taking some tactical courrses and was wondering if one of those would suffice for the renewal?

Best bet would be to call or email LSP Concealed handgun unit and ask them what qualifies.

My understanding is that the renewal class needs to cover the same material but without the required time requirement for each section (can be shorter).

When I did my renewal at FRC , I was in the same class as the first timers .

It is the same class. I was fortunate to find an instructor that does small classes. She is a friend of my daughters so she did a one-on-one class for me. With 20+ years of nuclear security, I already know most of the material so we were able to move thru the material quicker. But, yeah I wish it was just some type of certified training other than having to go thru a class again.
