    A Colt Anaconda 44 Mag 6" Stainless:
Anything I should look for with these? Wheel guns aren't necessarily my forte. I was just wondering if you guys who know more about them then I do could shed some light on things that I should know about this model. I have been doing some online reading about them. Anything bad about them? Good? Feel free to chime in if you'd like.

Lock up seems to be good, no push off, and timing is good as well. The ejector rod may be a bit off, but its not a deal breaker for me. What does Colt charge to go through and clean up something like this? Rough estimate from anyone?

    Thanks.

The Colt Anaconda is a MkIII or MkV or King Cobra action scaled up to handle 44 magnum. The ejecting rod is not a locking portion such as it is on a S&W. So if it still ejects the empty cases well and allows free turning of the cylinder it's not a big deal. This action does not time like a S&W or earlier Colt designs. Be sure to find the right one. This action is closer to a S&W action than the earlier Colt actions were as for example the cylinder won't lock up tight when the trigger held to the rear. Don't worry it wasn't designed to do that. The fit and finish on later models should be comparable with the King Cobra.

I have no idea how much Colt would charge to look at it.

Note Colt was going through some rough times during the produciton years of the Anaconda, qualtiy control was shadow of its former self, this is not to say that they were all bad, just that you have to be that much more careful on inspection for assembly flaws, improperly fitted barrels, etc.

If you get it and don't like it, let me know as I want to cross it off my list of colts to get.
I have one and I love it. Smooth and powerful, but after about 20 rounds my hands start to hurt. I'd love to get a 6" SS King Cobra or Python to compliment it.

Already moving in! lol I bet it'll be a blast to shoot, but not for my wallet.

I actually own 2 of them and love them I have a 6 inch stainless that is an awesome gun to shoot and extremely accurate. It is a Colt enough said right. I also have an 8 inch blued limited edition with gold enlay that is unfired in the box with all the paperwork 1 of 1000. it is gorgeous. The bluing is deep and rich you can see yourself in it. I bought it 2 years ago and I told my wife I was investing in my grandsons college fund if I keep it unfired. LOL

Post a good pic of the pair! I believe that I speak on behalf of everyone here on BS when I say that we all enjoy gun porn.

Also, were the factory blue hard cases serialized? I'll probably want to purchase a hard case for her too. Anyone have one laying around that they would want to get rid of?

I have an 8" pdt (ported, drilled, tapped) and it is a joy to shoot and the recoil is very minimal. The action and triggger is very very nice but was told the PDT came out of the custom shop?

I was always under the impression that the Anaconda and the KIng Cobra's were only made in stainless and no blue versions were ever made. I'd love to see it as well.
