I got the Warthog at the last P'ville gunshow and so far that's the first sharpener I've been able to use to put a shaving sharp edge on a knife with.

I have a set of ceramic sticks, if I can find it I'll make you a really good deal on it :p

I've heard the Spyderco sharpeners are good. My fiance's mom has some kinda sharpener at her shop that I use when I go over there, its two lil ceramic rods set into a handle, it's kept my kershaw's pretty sharp for me

the guy that sharpens knives at the gunshows, does a freakin great job for a Buck or 2 . i stopped sharpening them and bring all kinds of stuff to that guy. i think he is from Mississippi. he also has some back trouble so he walks hunched. He really does do a great job !!! even on serrated stuff as well.

My dad bought an Ark stone maybe 25 years ago during a vacation. That thing is still honing blades to razor sharp even though the stone has a nice "U" shape now. ;) It's how I learned to sharpen knives and has never failed me.

id be glad to teach ya in about 5 mins. if you ever had the desire to know.

If that is an open offer, I'll take you up on that. I can't sharpen a knife for ****. Let me know what kind of stone you recommend, and whatever else I'd need. I'll buy it and then buy you a beer (or 3?) to teach me to sharpen.

The Lansky sharpener is good. Similar to a chain saw filing guide. You get it right, keep flesh away from the blade or else. I cut into a finger last fall cutting up turnip greens with a kitchen knife.
