I had the chance to handle the Glock 43x and the Sig 365xl today at 2 different stores (not a side by side comparison) and personally I feel like the Glock 43x fit me much better (but I wanna like the sig more for some reason, probably the 2 extra rounds and better sights out the box lol).

My vote is for the 365XL. I actually bought mine as a standard 365 with manual safety then got the large grip module to take the higher capacity magazines, and eventually got a longer slide and frame. The trigger on my 365 is actually better than the trigger on a slightly smaller micro 1911, the Sig P938..

I have sig 365XLs, CZ P-07 and the Shield Plus, of late.

I enjoy all of them but, to me, the P365XL (I have factory sights on one and a Holosun Red Dot on another) is the easiest to carry and accurate in my large hands. The P-07 and Plus are just as accurate but larger for my 6'2" 225 lb fatass to carry.

Some said it, go get a feel for each one and I'd add ask if you can try it on using a loaner holster to determine how well it will conceal.

Happy to note that you have recovered from the pestilence.

So I spent a little more time with the 365xl and it’s just not for me, I feel a lot of hot spots and just don’t naturally grip it correctly. So I’m still looking at the 43x but honestly may just go back to a G19 or M&P 2.0 compact.

Beretta APX Compact or Centurion might be an option. G19 size or smaller and in the $350 price range. Mags are cheap also

I carry three different glocks. Glock 19, 45, and 43x mos. The 43x is still new and haven’t carried it much. I do prefer the 43x over the g19 sonfar. I wear gym shorts a lot and the 43x is perfect. Ive been running one of those enigma chassis things in gym shorts with my 19 but the 43x is better. It’s kinda snappy though. The G45 is my main carry when wearing pants and is the best glock in my opinion.

When I retired my Colt 1911, I tried all of the popular handguns (BHP, 92F, Glocks, CZ75, H&K, FN, S&W, etc.). I settled on a P229, and never looked back. Just my .02.

Since I don't do 9mm, my carry is G23 or G27. Dependable, accurate, and conceal well.

Ended up with another M&P 2.0 compact, just the most logical choice for me at this time.

I don't think there is a better all around carry gun than the p365. Small and can carry 12 rounds, shoots like a big gun, very accurate. And most importantly, reliable. Its also very modular so you can make changes to suit your likes. I just added the Wilson Combat grip and its awesome. Really fits my hand well.

    Glad you're doing better.

    Smith & Wesson Shield Plus
    Smith & Wesson CSX
    Ruger Max-9

I own all three and about 500 rounds through the Ruger, about 700 through the Shield Plus, and about 1,000 through the CSX. They're all very solid performers.

A lot of people love the Sig P365. I've shot them many times over the past few years and have find them consistently awful ... but I think their geometry just doesn't fit my hands.

I have the G43, & G43X, had a G27, I ran both 40 & 9mm in it. 9mm conversion barrel. The 27 was my son’s pistol, I carried it more than him. Looking to get another one, my own. A G26 however. Same size pistol.

The 26 would share the familiarity with the Glock and the G19.

The Sig 365’s just felt too small to me, even the XL. My 320 feels great though, with the Wilson grip.

I really like the G43X, I carry a Taurus G3C quite a bit as well.

The Taurus is inexpensive, but I like the feel of it the best of the 3. I also don’t mind as much if a $265 pistol gets beat up vs a $500 Glock. The 12,15, or 17 round mags is a plus.

My Beretta 92X get some love, as Does the Sig, but the smaller pistols really are more comfortable.

So last year I was hospitalized for a couple months and had no insurance so I sold every gun I owned except for one J-Frame. Now I’m getting back on my feet and I’m looking at getting a new carry gun, I’ve always carried a G-19 or a M&P 2.0 but question running right back to the same old thing. I’m really looking at the sig 365XL or possibly a CZ P-07 as my new carry gun. What else should I add to my shopping list?? (Oh must be 9mm)

    Thanks
Not a bad idea to have multiple sized guns to accommodate all situations of dress for different activities. My personal favorite is either Glock 27 in 40 cal when wearing t-shirts. I sometimes convert it to a 9mm and make it a 12 + 1 with the plus twoextension from Glock. Sometimes I carry the Glock 19 if I have a button down shirt or jacket. Also carry the Sig P938 when I need a smaller and lighter gun. It can go in a pocket holster if need be. And my NAA Pug if always available to fit anywhere.

Am I the only one carrying a 1911? Springfield EMP 3 is my normal daily driver.

    Glad you're doing better.

I used to carry commander sized and full sized 1911 and sometimes Browning Hi-Power when I carried in the back but have since swapped to to appendix carry and needed smaller frames guns.

That was the issue I had, it moved me to the Glock 43X. I use the S15 mags, the gen 1 series. No issues after over 1,000 rounds, but I hear the gen 2’s are hit or miss depending on your specific pistol. I wouldn’t recommend those. Stick with OEM Glock mags. The 43X is a nice easy carry too.

For rolling on concrete, the Taurus G3C might be an option, about $300 and comes with 3 12 round mags. Lifetime warranty, same size as a Glock 43X. (Almost).

If you already are used to carrying a G19 or M&P 2.0 why not stick with them? Personally I’m not a fan of the micro 9’s and I personally carry a G17. If you can comfortably carry a larger gun why drop down in size and lose capacity, terminal ballistics, longer sight radius amongst many other benefits of a larger gun.
I carry my Beretta 92X also, but there is no denying the smaller pistols are more comfortable when you carry 365 about 14 hours a day.

Nothing wrong with just using the J frame as your carry gun. It fits in a pocket or can be concealed anywhere else easily. If hammerless it's never going to get caught up in clothing during a struggle and not fire, hammer-fired won't fire if bunched up in clothing, and striker-fired pistols won't fire a 2nd shot if bunched up in clothing, but the hammerless J fame will unload all 5 round without issue.

Most altercations use less than 4 rounds and happen at under 10 yards which is the golden range for snub-nosed revolvers. Carry a Speed Loader, Speed Strip, or a Moon Clip and you have 10 rounds ready to go. Moon Clips are probably not the best but are the fastest way to reload on the fly.

When all you have is a pistol your primary objective isn't to engage, your primary objective is to disengage. 5 shots are plenty, reload a 2nd 5 if you really need to, but by the time you reloaded the 2nd 5 rounds you could have been another 100 yards away from the danger. If you truly want to re-engage targets you use your pistol, 2 points of contact, to fight your way to your rifle, 3 points of contact.

if you like the size of the 365, also look at the hellcat/pro, shadow cr920, the glock 43/48. capacity and hand fit will likely be deciding factors on this choice, also consider whether you want the option for a red dot
