Just wanted to give a shout out and thanks to Akajun, who helped me diagnose problems with my FAL. It was a pleasure meeting this fine gentleman and with his help I am on my way to getting it running properly.

    Many thanks

there is a large burr in the extractor cut on the reciever, the extractor struck it, which in turn peened the internal shoulder of the extractor. We could not pull the barrel, even with cheater bars and rope, possibly due to the burr. I was able to take a dremel and knock down the burr a little. However we did not have a replacement 2 peice extractor to replace it with. The put the old extractor back in, but it was too far gone and only lasted about a mag and a half.

New extractor is on order, if that doesnt get it, we will either have to pull the barrel by sacrificing the reciever and install an new DSA.

    Latest update

New extractor (from DSA) came in so I swaped it out myself, but then the bolt would not go fully into the bolt carrier as the extractor was not exactly the same size as the original. AKAJUN basically had to hand fit the new extractor into the bolt, and that seems to have done the trick. I fired 40 rds thru it today without a problem and it does not appear that the extracor is contacting the receiver, so the dremel work seems to have cured it.

A million thanks to AKAJUN once again.
