    Talk about expensive.

I was in the market for a new truck earlier in the year and considered a tundra until I started reading about the engine troubles.

These Trucks are trash. My friend got one from Carmax with low mileage to pick a new RV in Villeplate. RV weighed 5500lbs and on the way back the truck shook violently and the engine could hardly pull the RV. Thanks to Carmax return policy he turned it in the next day and got a real truck, RAM 2500 with a 6.4 liter V8. These humming bird wing engines are a joke. Ford is the only one to get it right so far. GM and Toyota failed miserably.

It is not the auto industries fault. It is the result of leftist and their forced emission and fuel standards.

Last fiscal year Toyota earned 32 billion dollars, in 12 months. While expensive, replacing 100,000 engines is not going to kill them. If it costs Toyota $12k parts and labor per vehicle, that is 1.2 billion dollars.
    Toyota financials

In one year, Toyota earns (nets) twice what Walmart does. And a little more than Amazon.

I've owned four Toyota trucks over the years and all of them were good trucks . Nothing recent though . I really hate that their brand has gone down .

I tried to get a 5.0 V8 in a 2024 FORD F150 Platinum. Only model that comes with a 5.0 is the Lariat, I was told. And the 2023's didn't have massage seats - found a 2022 with both options in Spokane and had it shipped down. I guess V-8's are on the way out.
    Thanks again, libs.

My 2011 F150 has 183,000 miles on it. The first year they offered the 5.0L Coyote engine. I bought it new. The only failed parts on the engine so far have been a radiator hose and a rear main seal.
