It has been over 5 years since I have been to the Dome for a game, and I could've walked in with a concealed AK then. As a LEO, are we permitted to carry?

I am not drinking a drop of alcohol, before anyone mentions it. That'd be :nono: and

If you are POST certified, you can carry anywhere in the country.

Yeah, I know we "legally" can carry everywhere, but I don't want to get nailed at the door with a wand, which is about what I figured would happen.

I would take your ID and badge and offer it as you walk in, they will get the idea and hopefully, maybe give you the nod.. if not, you know for sure..

Everygame I've been to, they have patted me down. And every game I could have had my pistol in it's holster and they would have not touched it. Hell, I could have had a Serbu Shorty in my pants and walked right in! And considering the fact that one security guy was in full ghetto-fabulous garb right down to his face/neck tat's, a small .40 would have been nice! ;)

Most of the dome "security" types are folks who couldn't get on with NOPD. What does that tell you?

Don't get me STARTED on those clowns. Unless there has been a drastic change in management/policies in the last several years, they are a nightmare to deal with; especially the black females.

And I'm talking about dealing with them as part of the augmented security detail for the Sugar Bowl, Super Bowl, etc. Trust me, the only reason I would ever go to the Dome is because I was sent, on orders.

    .

I had a conversation with someone at the convention center, and they even have a no gun policy.. I was like OK.. I guess I better not reveal too much to you.. I have a feeling the type of people you are talking about are everywhere..

I Just got home from the game. No wands to see anywhere. They "patted" you down when you walked in. This consisted of sticking your arms out sideways and them feeling the tops of your arms, that was it for me and the 3 others with me (2 different lines). You would have been safe to carry. "security" at the dome was a joke.

    And spreading fast.

None of the places I like to frequent have this problem; yet. But I can see a time when metal detectors are the rule rather than the exception; at least in major urban areas like Baton Rouge or GNO.

Couple that with the sad fact that EVERYBODY- from the feds down- in LE is having to hire some real tards who never would have gotten past the initial application in an earlier day.

And then we have "lettered" tards like Breyer who will continue to fuel the liberal quest for a ban on personal gun ownership.

    This won't end well.

    .

I am not LEO but have been in the periphery community all of my working life some of that has been fun and some that has been lackluster.. I have carried a TS clearance at times and worked in and around the same people and I have to agree they are spreading.. I have no interest in being LEO and my personality wouldnt meld well with some of the things you guys have to do.. its amazing you can do anything at all anymore to get the bad guys.. the courts and DA's have handicapped every single process in the daily work..I will stick to my current work which is the furthest I have been away from the crap and I like it..

    .
And with the recruiting pool they have, even NOPD has folks on duty who wouldn't make it in most agencies (Not a dig at our member Noloacop; I seem to remember him once making a comment reflecting the same thought)
