Sub $500 from personal experience only in order I’d say
    Beretta apx
    Canik tp9 series
    Taurus g3c.

I haven’t personally owned a p10c but I shot a friends and from my one experience and his feedback I wouldn’t hesitate to add that one to the list. In todays age we really are spoiled when it comes to affordable, reliable, durable firearms.

Take a look at the Turkish 1911's, or for that matter just about any of the new production Turkish guns.
Turkish handguns, I would absolutely agree. They are an amazing value and a lot of them can and do compete with the big boys. Shotguns on the other hand I would stay as far away from a Turkish shotgun as possible.

I bought a Girsan Regard (Beretta 92 clone) recently for I wanna say 350, and it is amazing. I am absolutely in shock at how well it shoots. I have about a 1k rounds through it now and not a single hiccup. I can also say the same thing about the P10c and the Sd9VE.

It's very hard to beat a Glock. Used Glocks can be found for 400-450 with some regularity. If you are eligible for the Glock blue label program they can be purchased for around 450 new.
There are lots of good handguns out there that are solid guns. That said, none has the reputation of Glock for the price.

Honestly, unless you’re talking about one of the carbines which in this instance you’re not I would stay away from any hi point handgun except maybe the new 10mm as a range toy. You can get to many guns that are better with more features for the same price or just a couple dollars more.
True. I was having a go, since value wasn't mentioned. Figured I'd throw in the ole yeet cannon. Lol
