I just stumbled across this site this morning while surfing the web.
My name is John. I currently live in Lafayette. I was raised in Lafayette, I moved to Morgan City where I worked as a Mechanic for a while, Then to Baton Rouge for 25 years, where I also worked as a Mechanic. After over 20 years I decided I needed a change. I worked as a Paramedic on the street for a little over two years, then began working in the offshore oil industry as a "remote" Paramedic. As such I am out on a platform caring for sick and or injured personnel until they are either cured, or Evacuated for onshore medical attention as necessary.
I have always loved shooting (more so than hunting, but I do hunt)
I have no formal handgun trainnig, but I mostly shoot pistols now informally. I did shoot rifles in competition in the Army about 40 years ago. (M14's)
I handload all my ammo, and most of my guns have not ever seen a factory round. I shoot mostly .44 mag, .44 special and .22 rifles and pistols. I also enjoy shooting my .50 cal Hawken. I have some property in the country where I have a small private range (out to 50 Yds) I also shoot at Sherbern WMA from time to time.
I look forward to meeting some fellow shooters.
