Pretty well said. Sometimes, just because it may seem bleaker elsewhere, you still don't deserve to call yourself the greatest.

America is like a beautiful F430 with a 16 year-old at the wheel nervously grinding her gears and hitting the cones and missing the entry curbing. I love her, but the driving is ****.

Do you think America is the greatest nation in the world?

It is hard to tell, last year I read about 2 million posts on here concerning the presidential election. They almost universally contained the same message. That Obama is ruining America and that if he is once again elected it shows the American people are idiots and that he will undoubtedly destroy our country. I also read about 2 million posts talking about how great our constitution is, the rule of law we've established, and how these things will always make America the greatest nation on earth. So I'm pretty conflicted, on one hand there is patriotism, on the other a socialist who I've been told is the impending doom of our country. The two simply don't mix, I mean, we can't be the greatest nation on earth AND be doomed by this secret Muslim.

I guess I don't know which one is stronger, my hate of Obama or my love of 'Murica. That's why I'm asking others. How do you decide between hating a Kenyan and loving 'Murica?

This doesn't even begin address our oppressive thieving government, Piers Morgan, jack booted police officers, the theory of evolution, and the clearly distorted motives behind sandy hook and Aurora and how these issues balance against pap's blue ribbon, Big mouth billy bass singing fish, nascar, Larry the cable guy, CMT and Ted Nugent

    I like it! :D

    If not Murica', then who?

This topic is on so many forums and from what I see most folks do think America is the Greatest Country, BUT! that doesn't mean they're proud of that or proud of admitting it.

So I suppose if it's understood that saying "Murica' is the Greatest Country" isn't saying that all other countries are **** and it isn't saying that we don't have a host of issues to deal with, then I see no problem with saying it.

Like I said though, at our current state and the direction we are heading it should be said with MUCH Humility, not Proud while looking down.

It should not be said without understanding that it is possible to lose that title.

Meh... that's my take. I don't take UBER SNOBBISH PRIDE in saying it, but I don't see any other Country that I would call Greater over the U.S.A.

It is a very subjective thing, what is good to you might not be good to me or someone else. I know New Zealand was rated as having more freedom, the highest rated education, and 5th most prosperity. It is a tough question to answer without doing some serious research and I would venture to say that visiting would also be needed. I can't really give a good answer, but I know that blindly saying yes when you've never left Louisiana isn't a sign of intelligence.

I recently read an article saying that USA trailed behind New Zealand on freedoms, liberties, civil rights, and other things supposedly making the USA the GREATEST>

Do you think America is the greatest nation in the world?

    Yes... Without question..

Is she under attack? Yes! Is there an effort to destroy her? Absolutely! Are their forces in power that would love to reduce her to an impoverished third world country? No question about it?

Is this the greatest country the world has ever known? In my opinion, yes..

We feed more of the worlds hungry than anyone..

We protect the weak, we promote democracy, we promote freedom, we share our abundance with the world...

    Yea, I'm pro America

I do believe America is the greatest nation- and I am sure as hell thankful that my ancestors thought so, too.
