Those numbers of persons leaving is quite substantial. I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow enact a measure to get their paws on the wealthy expatriates money before they actually left.

    Like a Tax to leave?

You know where they're coming though right? HERE!

No matter how bad we think it is here,
it's still MUCH better than pretty much the rest of the world.

Folks are still flocking here in great number, from all over. :dunno:

Well actually, the video said they were heading to Great Britain and Quebec mostly.

And instead of expounding and building on the exceptionalism that is capitalist America, we have dumbasses voting pro-welfare state champions in year after year to continue to chip away.

I'm sorry, but I do not see this happening in America. Sure, we have a lot of slackers, but by and large...Americans are still hard workers. American workers are still the most productive workers in the world.

Furthermore, think back to the 90's and the Clinton years..when Newt Gingrich and the Clinton White House totally revamped the welfare system. The new system was called Workfare and by and large...It has been a huge improvement over the welfare system of the past.

workfare-a form of social welfare program requiring able-bodied adults to work. In 1994 various U.S. states were already experimenting with workfare programs when Pres. Bill Clinton proposed a similar national scheme, including a welfare-payment cutoff after two years, coupled with aggressive programs of job training and retraining. The final bill, passed in 1996, replaced the existing 60-year-old program with block grants to the states, which were to run their own programs. Most recipients were required to work within two years of receiving benefits and were limited to a lifetime maximum of five years on welfare rolls. The law provided for job training and child-care assistance, though in a more limited form than originally proposed, and denied noncitizens access to a variety of services.

Is it perfect....No. But I have to say it has been a huge improvement over the old welfare system where generation after generation had babies that lived on the governments tit.

I know that it was after workfare passed that the Louisiana finally began to make an effort to garnish the wages of the "young men" who were having babies and more babies with tons of different women. Of course it isn't perfect, but it has improved.

I only wish we would have a Congress like we had back in the 90s. At least back then, they worked together and passed bills which made an effort at improving things. Now...its just pure gridlock. Its broken.

You do realize that the Reform/1996 that you spoke of pretty much no
longer exists, due to an Executive Order by the current president, right?

This. Also, remember our outstanding youths back in the occupy movement not too long ago.

I read Atlas Shrugged for the first time a year or so ago. Kinda scary, it is almost like a history of Amerika written 20 years in the future.

If we earn more, they tax us more. To prevent excess taxation on earnings, we must pay someone to maneuver it away from taxation, or spend it. Our system operates is a manner that middle class typically stay middle class or become poor. The odds of become wealthy is against middle class (the working class)
    So I think it's here

No...I do not realize that it no longer exists. Can you show me some proof where they did away with the reforms through executive order.

France had a tax rate of 75% for those earning over €1M Euros. That was ruled unconstitutional, so they now tax businesses that pay salaries over €1M at 75%. That's insanity. At one point in 2011 they did a one-time levy that had the wealthiest families pay OVER 100% in taxes for the year. Wrap your head around that.
