I was watching the Sniper II competition yesterday and he was on there. He was speaking about an engagement that he had been involved in while "down range", apparently while working for an "unidentified" civilian contractor.

Pretty cool, since I believe he'll be here in Nov. for our carbine training.

Have you seen that Youtube video of the "sniper" being dropped off on the rooftop by helicopter, and shooting mag after mag after mag out of a scoped AR? Thats him. I'll go find it and add it to this post.

Yep, that's the engagement that he was talking about. They showed some of the same video, but not the part that looked like the turkey shoot.

The one with all the cursing and the guy spotting for him? I think I might have posted it here a while back if so.

There are so many great quotes in that video I don't know where to start.

"Jesus Christ it's like a ****** turkey shoot."

My favorite part is where they are having casual conversation in between mag changes. When they are down "training" us I really think these guys are going to go back to the hotel at the end of every day and laugh at us.

You have to start somewhere. There was a thread on arfcom where he talked about the situation. They were engaging out to 6-700 meters, he said even with the heavy grain bullets (77?) he was using he had to shoot some of the targets 4-5 times.

That rifle looks like an M468 but it's evidently not. Those look like 223 instead of 6.8. I've been wondering for a while what they were sending down range.
