Can anyone give me a value and possibly manf. date on this rifle? Picked it up couple of years ago on a whim and forgot it in the safe. In excellant cond for it's age, still has the walnut stock sticker on it. Had a little trouble with it jamming but a good cleaning fixed that. Ser.# 68 29xxx, any info will be appreciated. Thanks, CC

    Josh,

Nice little rifle. Those models were made from 1965 thru 1978. While not sure, I believe from the serial # yours would have been made in 1971. The ones that I have seen with the rear sight intact have been in the $150-200 range. It is basically the model 60 action with a shorter barrel and different magazine tube. I can tell you that the original rear sight is about half the value of it. If you ever decide to take it off, make sure you keep it in a safe place!

Saw a used but not abused one at the Ponchatrain Center last year (?). Priced around $150.00, I think. I thought too long about springing for it and someone beat me to it.
