Anyone hear something about conceal carry for veterans being passed and signed by the governor?
I went to the DMV back when they started putting VETERAN on our DL years ago. I couldn't believe I didn't have to pay for it. I had a couple years left on my DL when I went. Wonder if my VA healthcare card would work? They will put VETERAN on your DL.
That's what I'm thinking also.Wonder if my VA healthcare card would work?
Right underneath your picture in bold black letters. I've been using my often for military discounts at Academy for ammo. They will put VETERAN on your DL.
I thought about this but I typically only travel to Mississippi and Alabama which already have constitutional carry in effect.Well this is good news, and applies to me, however:
I'm not about to give up my LA CHP. It comes with reciprocity when I travel.
That's what I'm thinking also.
Probably not because dependents can have VA cards. That's what I'm thinking also.
Does the dependent have the Veterans picture on it?Probably not because dependents can have VA cards.
I went to abc title a few years back and was in and out within 15 minutes. Just walked in with my driver’s license and DD214
My VA card doesn’t have my picture and I’m a veteran. I would imagine the dependents do not either.Does the dependent have the Veterans picture on it?
What kind of VA card is yours? Mine has my pictureMy VA card doesn’t have my picture and I’m a veteran. I would imagine the dependents do not either.
I have what I thought was a standard VA insurance card. It looks just like my blue cross blue shield insurance card. I signed up with the VA about 5 years ago when I was discharged. I don’t ever use my VA insurance because my employer provides me with a nice package for myself and my family. Other than signing up and making an initial appointment to get my VA card I’ve never actually used it other than to sign up with verify me for military discount on online orders from various websites. What kind of VA card is yours? Mine looks similar but without the picture. Issued in May of 2016View attachment 121596View attachment 121597
That is the only two VA cards I've seen. Mine is the bottom card.
That top one is pretty new. That was for Vets that didn't have any other card and wanted something to show just to prove they are a Vet. The bottom is the one you get when you sign up for VA healthcare that's the one I have and if you're Service Connected it's on there. I got my card in probably early 2017.
