Also, DeSantis promised that Florida would be Constitutional Carry before he left office.

I can hardly wait for him to be President.

"Conservatives and gun rights activists have taken to calling the category of legislation “constitutional carry,” even though no provisions in the Constitution explicitly allow for the right to carry concealed, unlicensed weapons."

I get so steamed when I read irresponsible and slanted "journalism" such as this! How hard is it to read the brief content of the Second Amendment and realize that there are NO EXCEPTIONS of any sort listed, no specific provisions that produce any limits. It simply affirms that the right to keep and bear arms exists, and that government is not supposed to jack with it. It allows for weapons, and it allows for carry, concealed or otherwise, definitely unlicensed. The "intervening fathers" that have served between our "Founding Fathers" and now have just failed us numerous times in allowing infringements which should never have taken place.

This is another example of where we need to fight to control the language of the debate. The Constitution and it's protections of the rights of the people is at the very heart of this issue, and to deflect that for the term "permitless carry" is a calculated move on the part of the media and the progressive left who don't want any potentially swayable voter to relate the debate to the concept of their own rights, whether it is one they actually choose to exercise or not.

“Permitless carry causes harm, and there is data to prove it,” said Shannon Watts, a board member at the gun violence prevention group Everytown for Gun Safety.

She pointed to multiple studies showing that states that have implemented permitless carry have had upticks in both gun violence and police shootings. They include an analysis last year by Everytown showing that handgun homicide rates rose by 11% in states that weakened their gun permitting regulations. In addition, a study last year by researchers at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found that police shootings had increased by 13% in 10 states that had passed permitless carry laws from 2014 to 2020."

Yeah, it might not be related to ANY of the myriad other factors that have led to increases in violent crime nationwide, just more gun-toting, and only in those states.
