Title says it all. Looking for a Home Defense/Cool Factor shotgun. Also, will be used as a camp gun to shoot hogs w/ some slugs, and maybe for turkey hunting.

I am familiar w/ mossberg as my beater duck gun is a 835. Haven't heard too much about the Super Nova/Nova.

What do some of ya'll think?

Well, went to the local fun club and played with a Benelli Super Nova as well as a Remington 870 and Mossberg 590. Decided on the Benelli Super Nova, will post pics when it arrives.

The way I understand, any Main stream shotgun will be of at least decent quality. I have a mossy 20 ga that I use for rabbit, squirrel, and dove. Haven't cleaned it in years, wipe down with an oily rag and its good to go.

    I have three Super Novas

Here is a few pics of them. One is a Tactical, one for turkey/dove/squirrel and the other is being turned into a slug gun.

Sonyman, what type of mag extension is that?

Right now I am debating the Surecycle or the Tacstar.

Love my benelli, shoots great, quick reloads, and the ghost ring sights are great for quick target aquisition.

Is that the 20" or 18.5"? I've been looking at the Benelli Nova 18.5" for a house shotgun and from what I've read it only holds 4 shells in the mag. The tube extender is a must. I do like the Nova though.. although I've been reading that it rattles a bit. I don't think that will be much of an issue bc I won't be using it for hunting.

I will always got withteh Mossburg, because I have personally put them through hell and back. I know we put a minimum of 10,000 rounds through one and it had been to hell and back by the time I got it. IMO best damn shotgun for under $1000
