Mounting a Vortex strike fire

I have a Vortex Strike fire red dot scope it comes with a Mount to put it on a long gun I want to take the rifle mount off and put a scope mount on it so I can put it on my pistol Has anyone thought of this or has done it what size scope ring would I use. Thanks for the help

On you pistol? a Pistol AR? or a handgun?

I believe the StrikeFire takes a 30mm ring... but most come with the spacers to do a 1" or 30mm.

thanks for the reply I am mounting on my Ruger mk 4 22/45 I have the red dot but don't have a AR or Ar pistol just looking for something to do with it I think I might have some 30 mm rings laying around Thanks for your Help
