Need help deleting threads in PM inbox

My inbox is full and I'm trying to clean out some old threads but can't seem to figure it out. I go to my inboxes and start checking the boxes, then I go to the tab at the bottom left of my screen and it doesn't give me the option to delete them. See pic. What am I doing wrong or not doing right?
