My name is Evan, my username: Lungo Raggio, actually means “Long Range” in Italian..
I’m a father and grandfather, although I’m only in my mid-forties.
When I turned 18 I started collecting guns as I wasn’t being charged rent at first lol.
I enjoy the conversations, while I hang my hat in Covington, Louisiana I’m a commercial driver, so I tend to be all over the place which makes it hard to hang out or go to the range often. I don’t sell much, I’m hoping one day my kids will start asking and I’ll be able to put most of my collection in my will.
My collection has a little bit of everything, most of which I’ll never part with. I still have the first gun I ever bought at Walmart, a stainless Ruger 10/22, now I have several from chargers to take-downs with integrated silencers as well as thread on. My wife carries a Taurus judge with a 3” barrel and a 3” cylinder on most days but she’d rather change her gun to the weather than dress to conceal. I dress to conceal. My favorite carry gun is a HK USP 45tac with a Jarvis barrel because I don’t like the single suppressor I could find with backwards threads that matched the stock barrel. Pretty sure the jarvis barrel is superior in accuracy as well.
I’ve always been fond of novelty type firearms, take-downs, AOW’s, mouse guns, etc. I’m a bit eclectic with the odd one’s such as a Whitney Wolverine, that I really only take out to clean and put back (safe queen) but it’s worth to much to shoot lol. Yeah, I have a bunch of the regular stuff too. Three screw Ruger Black-Hawk that my dad gave me, probably gonna get a Super Redhawk one day just to keep it company, well, I’ll have to shoot that one I’ve always wanted a .44 magnum and most of my kids have moved out so it’s looking like maybe after I get rid of my rifle I’ll be able to build my collection in a direction that is less spontaneous and more oriented towards my goals of actually being able to shoot on a regular range instead of having to drive to look for a 1000yrd+ range just to sight some things in.
I’ve been getting into long range for several years as well. Although I rarely get to shoot these days, I found this site because I’m planning on going to the gun show this Saturday at the Castine Center on Pelican Dr, in Madisonville to sell a rifle and my little brother suggested this site instead.
That’s all good and well, I hope I find a good gun place to hang out - that is heavily moderated, because I’ve seen the alternatives and they are lacking in every dept.
I’m a Constitutionalist, Extremely Pro-Gun and Pro-Family. I hate politics even when it’s about guns. My English is sometimes off - usually it’s my autocorrect. But honestly I usually don’t care enough to fix it lol.
I met my wife in high school, we had to wait to get married for a bit but we’ve been together for 30+ yrs.
I’m an open book, as long as people are respectful in the questions they ask.
