I was told at 'the old place' that they bought the place and didn't know where the old guy (Maury was their gunsmith - good guy, btw) went.
I haven't made it over to the new Shooters yet. The old shooter's range was too short (10 yard?), so I probably will get over there soon. I'll probably shoot there on rare occasions, though it is close to home. I do prefer outdoor ranges, though FITS in Slidell is air conditioned and is VERY nice. Nick's in Garyville is my favorite outdoor, though the WMA range in Pearl River is nice. (It would be even better if they ever finish the bridge and you could drive close to the firing line.)
I heard they closed down the old Jefferson indoor range because the manager died of lead poisoning from breathing in the lead on the range. Occupational hazard, I guess. The people that worked in there were less than friendly, so I didn't spend much time there.
