I just wanted to post up a range report on a new steel flapper that I got from LVsteeltargets.com. Kurt goes by LVshooter on snipers hide and posted these on there before they're even on his website. Forgive the crappy phone picture, but you get the idea.
It's made from 5/8" AR-500 steel and is claimed to hold up to just about anything shy of .50BMG. I've had it on two range trips thus far and hit with everything from fast .30cal. (.30-06, .308Win. & .300WM) 175smk's, 155 Scenars, and Hornady hunting rounds to M855 at 100yds. The worst we could do to it was a few chips on the outside edges where the steel was softened from being cut out, but it works great. At 6" wide by 10" tall it's perfect for 300yd shooting and sends back a nice ringing thud when hit. I'm not affiliated with Kurt, but he's got some nice targets and a great rep. JayD bought the same target and may throw in his $.02 on the hinge pin....
