I've been interested in 3 gun competition for quite some time, but my background is all pistol, with the exception of .22 lr rifle plinking and a few deer/elk hunts. Are there any training facilities that offer 3 gun training, around here?

The training is coming shoot a match, no one will make fun of you, we all want to help new shooters, you can be the last shooter and the RO won’t mind coaching you through the course

I don't even own the firearms to use for the course. To be honest, I've never even fired an AR; the last weapon of that type I fired was an M-16 A2, in 1991! Perhaps I should attend a few matches as a spectator and ask questions?!

If you came to a match with store-bought ammo you could shoot my guns and I'm sure others would offer also, a great group of guys, it would be good if you had a pistol with a secure holster.

That would be the way to go, I reckon. I just bought (and fired for my ccw course) a CZ P10C with a Holosun 507C. Other than that, I have a few Glocks, several .45 acps, some lever guns, etc. I recently returned to America, after 14 years in anti-gun Hell, Australia; so I'm REALLY anxious to hit the ground running. I've only seen these competitions from afar and thought they looked like a good way to get back into shooting sports.

I was in a similar situation not long ago.
I had been shooting ARs and pistols for a few years for fun but had wanted to do 3 gun for years.
I finally bought an entry level 3 gun shot gun and went to Poplarville match with an open mind, no ego and and expecting to suck.
I don't make every match but it is a lot of fun, learn a bunch every match and everyone there is helpful and encouraging.
I still suck, just a little less and hate when I miss a match.
Shoot me a PM if you have beginner questions...lol.
