I just picked up a Weatherby Vanguard .300 Winn Mag w/ 28" barrell. I am looking at different types of rounds and there are a ton of different grains they come in. I am looking for some pro/cons in the 150, 165, 180 grains. Any experience with them as well as factory loads reviews. I'm looking for something that will be flat and accurate around 1200 meters. All input is appreciated

You left out the most important part. What are you expecting the bullet to do at given distances?

Try them all and go with whatever shoots the best with the given bullet design for your intentions.

I've pretty much only shot Winchester 190 gr Match and occasionally Federal GMM 190 gr as the WCC seems to be drying up. Pretty much .25 to .50 MOA through my Savage and the M91a2

For distances out to 1200 meters you're going to need a minimum of a 180 grain bullet. Something (match) in the 190-210 grain area would be preferable. Jlk, Sierra match king, or Berger would be the bullets I would start with. 1200 meters is a llloonnnggg ways out there. Good luck!
