I was reading some information on LADWF about Tunica Hills. I'm trying to understand what the regulations are regarding hunting Deer vs everything else. Am I reading correct in that you can only hunt Deer with Bow or Black powder but with small game and water foul you can hunt with whatever you would normally?

For some reason I was told or lead to believe that Tunica was primitive weapon only. So I can't imagine hunting squirrel with a bow, however that would be very challenging and interesting.

    Thanks

    Mandeville, LA
    Deer: Archery: Oct. 1-Jan. 31, either-sex. Youth Lottery: Nov. 3-4, either-sex. Muzzleloader: Nov. 23-Dec. 2, either-sex.

Small Game and Waterfowl: Same as outside EXCEPT CLOSED Nov. 3-4 and Nov. 23-Dec. 2 and EXCEPT CLOSED to squirrel hunting during the spring season. All handguns prohibited north of LA 66 (North Tract).

Beagles allowed for rabbits and dogs allowed for squirrel hunting Feb. 1-29 on South Tract only.

Raccoon (Nighttime): Feb. 1-29 on South Tract only.

Unmarked Hogs: May be taken by properly licensed hunters from Oct. 1-Feb. 29.

Same as outside to me would mean appropriate weapon and ammunition just like on private property.
