I know this is not in the shotgun forum, but the GD gets way more traffic. I need to find out before it gets dark.

How do LEOs measure barrel length. Is it from A or B?? If it's from A, my barrel is 18.5", if it's from B, my barrel ls 17.8".

Sorry again about the disruption of the GD Fung Shui.

From what I have heard/read, close the action, drop a dowel rod (or cleaning rod) down the muzzle until it touches the boltface, mark it at the muzzle, remove and measure. (or A as in your picture)

Ahhh, I've never used that toolbar before. Whoa, we have a search function?? CRAZY.

Oh yeah - was richards answer correct?? I don't want to hack my barrel just to never be able to use it.

I'm pretty sure Richards answer is correct. That is, measured from closed bolt face. I'll look in the book to check.
Also, overall length of firearm must be over 26" from butt to muzzle.
