Im torn...im thinking about picking up a mini, but not sure if i want the 14 or 30. I know the 223 will be fun to shoot, but the 30 will have a little more grunt. (not that a 7x62 isnt fun to shoot. but whatever)...what are your guys opinions on the guns.

I have a mini-30 with the folding stock. I like it and it functions flawlessly. They have 30 rd mags readily available, but it's harder to find the 40 and 50 rd mags. I got about 4 of the 50's, but I find them few and far between. All on preference though, they are both good rifles. :)

I've always been tempted to buy a mini-30. I was holding out for the mini-6.8 but mags didn't materialize. I've heard mixed stories on mag reliability in 7.62 x 39.
I decided to go AR finally in .223. I'll pick up a spare 6.8 upper for hunting, etc. later.
I decided against the mini-14 because the savings wasn't there. Add up the cost of an AR and a mini-14 and 10 good quality mags. It worked out about the same for me...
