Supposed to mean that you’re some type of criminal royalty or high ranking crime boss
And I could be wrong about this but I think it originated from the Russian criminal world.
I have no idea if there's some criminal meaning, but the nautical star used to actually have some meaning amongst sailors, and one earned the right to get the tattoo. These days, it seems like every Tom, Dick, and Harry has one.

Poor guy, thinks it's his fellow citizens that are funding cartels and terrorists organizations. He must have never heard fast and furious, Contras, Freeway Rick Ross, Barry Seal, or any of the other countless instances of our government doing all those things you blame on your fellow marijuana using citizens.
If you want to blame something or someone for these things, you can't blame the end user, when it's your government who creates, funds, and supplies every aspect of it.

Poor guy, never heard of the law of supply and demand. Without an end user, there is no demand, ergo there is no industry. But I could see how the uninitiated and narcissistic would confuse the issue, especially when it involves culpability and virtue signaling.
It's easier to blame others, particularly government conspiracy, than to admit that you are part of the problem. Let's get one thing straight, son: anyone supporting narco-terrorism through their own drug use is not my "fellow," nor are they much of an American.
That is about as naive and near sighted as calling yourself an "environmentalist," then ordering your foreign trinkets from Amazon. The fuel wasted on shipping materials transcontinentally, then delivered to each individual's door as opposed to a single retail outlet is insurmountable.
It is a safe bet that you are big into stickers tattoos and emojis; any form of symbolism without substance or sacrifice. It reminds me of a case study that we did when I was in college, where the paedophile wasn't responsible for child pornography; he didn't take the pictures, you see, he only purchased them.

    Ouch.

I bet you carry around a 12' ladder to get on that horse of yours.

ETA - just for the record, there are countless men and women that any decent person would recognize and respect their contributions to society - that also happen to be "drug users". Dare I even say, many of them may even be more of "an American" than either of us.

Careful you don't ostracize yourself too much, the apocalypse is near and you may just need to lean one of those despicable drug users.

You are VERY persuasive in some regards: you make a very strong case for the perils of public school and growing up without a father. Hell, I was even pro-life before you started talking. Grow up, accept responsibility, and put your delicate feelings aside; that's what men do. We are done here, son.

Mr college education and all his big words make my smooth brain hurt.

Fast and furious is a fact, Iran Contra is a fact, CIA created crack epidemic is a fact, American troops guarding poppy fields and trafficking heroin is a fact, us government politicians colluding with big pharma to create the current opioid epidemic is a fact, I could go all day.
Calling people who smoke marijuana un-american is the the biggest and likely the least popular opinion in the thread.
Accusing someone of doing something just because they defend it is typical for someone who has little to no ground to stand on.
Everyone has their opinion, yours just happens to be the wrong one.

there's the emoji you asked for

It also seems to vilify otherwise good, innocent people.

Calm down, sparkle pony, you are triggered. I didn't expect much from someone with a shirtless male in a pink orb as a thumbnail image, but you are falling short of even minimal masculine honor, conviction, and principle. Well, the "convictions" are likely, anyway.

Yes, if the coffee industry became a source of revenue for terrorist organizations, human trafficking, and the coffee cartel was murdering civilians and law enforcement, real Americans "would rail against it." You cannot call yourself a patriot if you support an enterprise that is destroying your country and its sovereignty, the way drug trafficking has. Nobody wants to accept responsibility or face the reality of their choices and lifestyle.
It is much easier for marijuana users to pat themselves on the back, employ bumper stickers and social media posts to declare themselves patriots, rather than to admit that the distinction between "weed" and "hard drugs" does not exist when it comes to the distribution methods and manpower used, the revenue generated to support cartels, and the lives lost. The cartel's don't treat one product differently than another.
When smuggling coffee reaches the level of bombing civilian aircraft and neighborhoods, kidnappings, and savagery, then it should be addressed. Personally, I believe that should marijuana be legalized, but that doesn't matter. Until it is, recreational drug users are financing terrorism.
Sorry that the facts are inconvenient, and punctuate the hipocracy of some people. I am not as "cool" as millennials, leftists, and celebrity mouthpieces; I am just more informed and objective. If you can justify and console the families of those killed by narco terrorism, by explaining that it was a shipment of marijuana, not cocaine, you are more articulate than I am. I look forward to your objective, citable reply, but don't expect it anytime soon.
It is now legal. You can get it from any doctor. Don't get it off the street

Americans get arrested in other countries all the time. Hell I think their was once a docuseries about it. We only care when it’s a famous person. So screw her.
I remember the first time I traveled to Singapore. On the immigration card handed to me on the plane in great bold print it said “death to drug traffickers”.
If you don’t have the sense to understand where your going then good riddance.
Agreed, this happens all the time to other Americans, nobody cares about them, they're not in the news. So nothing to see here. Several thousand Americans are arrested each year overseas. So how hard do we work for them?

So, if she was found in possession, in a foreign country, she is subject to their laws. If the US were to bring her home, we couldn't hold her accountable for possession over there, she wasn't breaking the law on our soil. Now, if she was in possession when she left here and got caught over there....there's smuggling. That we can try her for.

Do not do the crime if you can not do the time........ Once you step outside of this country you are subject to the other countries laws and punishment for your stupidity. And in some of these countries when you start to protest and start to to claim that you are a US citizen you just gave them more fuel to the fire ............................... drill sgt.

Wait, let me get this straight!
The country where police are arresting protesters(who are actually peaceful) and "disappearing" journalists arrests an American citizen(after additional US sanctions) and people think she is guilty of something?
Arrested by a county that routinely assassinates political dissidents on a regular basis?
Arrested by a county that puts children in jail for disagreeing with a war?
Arrested by a county that routinely murders women and children?
Arrested by a county that targets journalists for covering a war?(you can ask Time magazine and Fox News about that)
How do we know she wasn't framed?
Russia has no credibility and NOTHING they say sbout ANYONE can be trusted at all.
Russia, Putin, and Lavrov can go to Hell.

By the way, Putin is actually a pu$$y. Turkey shot down a Russian plane and Pu$$y Putin did NOTHING!
Russian mercenaries were killed in a US airstrike in Syria and Pu$$y Putin did NOTHING! Pu$$y Biden needs to grow a pair and put Pu$$y Putin in his place!

The 7th MEB(one of my units) would roll over those pathetic excuses for troops in short order. There might not be much left for our 0311's after the 155mm's, F-18's, AH-1's, and M1's cut a path. Combined Arms is done to perfection in the Marines. The Russians are incapable of it.
I am not saying we should send in Marines. Just touching in how pathetic the russian army(lower case intentional) is today.

If she actually did the crime, I hope she can do the time, but to play devil's advocate, there is also a pretty good chance that they planted the drugs for propaganda and leverage. The Russians still don't really understand our culture and they really may think she's a big deal and thought it would make a splash or she would be a good trade for one of theirs, down the road. I don't know anything about her, good or bad, but this one might not be on her...

It looks Brittney Griner doesn’t like the US national Anthem. So should anyone care if she is locked up in Russia. You complain about America & go make a living in a communist country. Then brake their laws & now you want America to save you. Sorry, I Don’t Care. Learn your lesson the Hard Way.
How stupid does she have to be? Doing something illegal in another country. Apparently VERY STUPID. But her wife misses her.

So, I'll ask the damn question. What is in your opinion the proper way to protest the inequities in the "justice "system, and police brutality? It seems like no matter what people do, it is never good enough nor the proper thing to do! So for clarification, what is the proper way to protest????

For starters, maybe pick a case where the "victim" doesn't have a mile long rap sheet, try to take control of an officer's firearm, or try to draw on an officer.
I get what you're saying, but sadly, 99 times out of 100, the only cases that get the attention are undeserving and strictly serve as a tool to create more divide.

Sadly you are incorrect, You should check out YouTube and search for cops behaving badly. Most of these videos will be of people of color being abused by cops, people with ZERO rap sheets. People who don't even fit the description of the person they are looking for. It is one thing for the perp to attack the cop, then they get what they deserve. But how do you justify going in unannounced into a non violent 70 year olds home with guns blazing for a "red flag" call? If you want I can post URLs

I didn't say it doesn't happen, I said the wrong cases get undeserved attention, which creates a smoke screen for the cases that actually deserve attention.
