Here’s my 642 with the Incognito Concealment holster. Absolutely love this holster. Lately I’ve been carrying this more often than my Shield 45. A bit easier to carry all day working in this oppressive heat.

Speaking of S&W, I got an email today wanting me to join “The Smith & Wesson Gun Cabinet”. Supposedly kind of an advisory forum for them to get feedback and bounce ideas off of.
    Anybody else get this?
They want me to fill out a survey first to make sure they have a good cross-section of customers.
Looks legit but I’m always skeptical.

I carried a 686 on a bunch of deployments back in the day. I chose to carry the 686 because they held up better in the salt water than the 1911-A1s did. Mine always went bang and I found it easy to qualify expert with at the range. Only downside I remember is speed loaders are a bit slower than a magazine change.

I have tryed all morning to come up with something good about a Glock. You are going to have to wait a little longer i'm afraid. "throw" as in throw away. "old plastic" means what it says.
    Colt,Smith Wesson,Kimber,Ruger,--------------------------------------------------and then Glock.
Dont let me make you mad,I am mostly kidding.

I'm not brand particular. I went to impulse buy a revolver in 357 magnum. There was a NRA edition ruger and sw 686. So the 686 came home. A taurus would of been fine as well.

However after hand polishing the 686, I only want stainless. I do want a sw 460 with a rail (to put a red dot) as my next revolver. I was in a couple big SW Facebook groups and the constant trash talk on polymer guns got very old very quick. Same with the 1911 groups. At least with revolvers, they actually ran great out the box.

I prefer the less expensive and more reliable Glocks and I am an Oldman also.

I love my S&W revolvers. The first gun I purchased was a model 66 4” for my service revolver when I turned 21 and still have it. I’ll never sell that one. I saw the receipt a while back and I paid 275.00 for it. I picked up a 686 4” a few years ago and paid a premium for it but I just had to have it.

I carried a S&W Revolver on duty 50 years ago but most of my pistols today are semi auto.

I wonder why there are no Smith Wesson revolvers in the for sale part?
Nothing but glocks and other plastic junk
I counted 8 different S&W revolvers posted this month before I got tired of looking for them. Are you sure you are looking in the correct place?

Do any of y'all think a glock will be worth 3 - 5 times what you paid for it, in 20 years?
My guns arent an investment. My polymer guns arent junk. S&W isnt bad as the thread title says either, but being close minded to polymer isnt helpful imo. Taurus makes some nice revolvers and they are cheaper if you want to give them a try.

Majority of my guns get looked at. I am more of a collector than shooter. I think collectors lean more towards revolvers and all metal guns where as people who actual use the guns lean more to polymer.
I have a Smith model 69 Combat 69 5 shot 44mag. Absolutely love this gun.

Like Oldman11, I am 83 years old and love my S&W revolvers. The only pistols that I own are S&W revolvers in 44 mag. & .357 mag.
and .22 RF. I shoot every two weeks and enjoy the sport and hand loading for these two calibers. Naturally I down load for these two calibers so that it is fun and you won't get beat up shooting .44 mag loads all day. In my favorite order are the 29-2, 27-2. 28-2. 17-3
and 19-2. I shoot one big gun and one .22 RF at a time. The K 22 Masterpiece is cheaper to feed and handles just like the N frame
others. All are pinned, recessed cylinders and 3 T's. They are made of steel, not an alloy. Richly blued and not silver. Wood grips, not plastic and hand crafted. I'm still shooting a 28-2 that I purchased in 1962. It is OK if you like Glock's or other autos. Just have fun and be safe.
