Stoeger shotgun

I have a friend who has a stoeger 12 gauge automatic, the gun is right handed, but the shooter is left handed. He wants to switch the safety button from right to left hand operation. Question is, is this even possible and if so anyone know of a good gunsmith that would be able to do it? Preferably in the houma/thibodaux area, although he would bring it to other areas if need be.
