Only issue is I'm not sure if I like the painted wood. I told him to go ahead and do it and it looks great but I donno. Anyone have a wood set they want to get rid of?

Bleach it and start over. The only issue is the wood might swell up a bit; but nothing that can't be corrected with a drimmel.
