NY has overstepped their bounds on 2A for to long. They deny the rights of US citizens daily...... the chickens have come home to roost.

I haven't seen much speculation on how this will go on the internet or whether the ball will really move either way. Anyone have thoughts on whether something will actually come from this?

Considering the Court sided with the Constitutional protection of the Right to bear arms in ones' home for personal home/self defense without Trump's appointees there, and these last three seem to be clearly in the camp of the Right to Bear Arms as an irrevocable Constitutional Right, I can't see the NY "may" permit law holding up. There are also clear cut cases that NY state unequally enforces this "state" law based on ethnicity, race, nepotism, who you know, how much money you have (or don't), and what part of the state you live. The biggest Rights violations are in NYC.

I hope this sets a long lasting precedent for these America haters that the 2A shall not, can not, and will not be infringed!

One thing I will avow now; Sotomayer and Kagan are a guaranteed dissent regardless of the arguments! Two unrepentant shills for the democrats!

    Fun Fact:

I read that this "May Permit" law has been in place since the 20's to originally dissuade newly arriving immigrant Italians from getting guns!

Great bunch of guys these New York democrats were/are!

How well did that work? Murder Inc, Lucky Luciano, Capone, Frank Costello, the Five Families. I’m glad those gun laws worked so well. Just like all of the new gun laws.

I'm sure the $418 application fee is an effective deterrent. If they lose, you can bet it, and all other charges, will increase.
If memory serves it was John Stossel who attempted to try the system, and that's what they would have charged, had it gone past denial. Which it didn't.

That’s why we have a $200 NFA stamp fee. Back when that was passed, $200 was more than most of the items cost which fell under the regulation. Current equivalent with inflation would be closer to $3000 IIRC. Could you imagine buying a $700 suppressor but having to pay a processing fee four times that amount for permission to own it?

Could you imagine if cars, which are used in more deaths weekly than class 2 and 3 items annually, had a tax stamp of 20-100% of the retail cost to “dissuade illegal use”?

Last night I read the transcript of the opening arguments of the plaintiff. It didn't seem very compelling at times. But like I knew and stated, Kagan and Sotomayer have their minds already made up! It below if anyone wants to kill some time.

Full disclosure; I did not read the arguments from the defendants. Don't really care to read the same old tired **** about how Americans can't be trusted to make decisions for themselves!

I think it was Kavanaugh that asked *are you more likely to get mugged in the forest or a crowded city*. I noticed Clarence Thomas is no longer the silent justice and is asking good questions.

I read the entire 136 pages.

You should absolutely go read the arguments from the defendants and specifically, the questions asked to them by the justices. I got a kick out of the deer comment on page 65.

NY seems to be losing it since they sight laws concerning personal carry and possessioin enacted in NEW AMSTERDAM and under BRITISH RULE as their basis for present laws.

At first I didn't think the SC was too about it, but when the defense started talking I was quite surprised.

I would LOVE to be able to carry a pistol when I'm in Manhatten. There have been quite a few times where I've ridden a subway late at night and been very sketched out.

It'd also be cool if carry permits from other states were accepted there.

At the age of 17 I walked every NYC Precinct alone late at night without issue until the LEO escorted me out of Harlem telling me I did not belong there.
I did not see anyone that "Looked Like Me" in any of the clubs in Harlem at that time.
