WTS: Walther P38 ac44 - Vet bring back

All matching – frame, slide, barrel & locking block. The serial number with a “b” suffix indicates it was manufactured in Feb/Mar of 1944 by Walther. Several 359 Waffenamts are present, between two of the numbered Waffenamts is an eagle over a globe & swastika. When Walther first began making the P38’s, all of the small parts including the grips were serialized, but this practice had been gradually discontinued. By the time this pistol was manufactured, the small parts were no longer serialized and the grips had neither serial numbers nor inspection stamps.

The finish is thinning, and is the earlier style, before the “plum” finish (hasty and poorly controlled bluing process) began in late 1944. Nice, original grips.

This pistol comes with 2 WWII production magazines. One magazine is marked “P. 38, “jvd” and a “706” Waffenamt, made by Spreewerk, the other has a single “Eagle / 359” Waffenamt, which I believe to have been made by Erste Nordbohmische MetallFabrik. Also included is an aftermarket commercial holster.
