wanting shotshell pistol?

Thinking of getting 1 of the single shot .410 or 20ga pistols for a around the yard snake gun. I remember these being around $100 new a while back, bur havnt seen any lately. Wanting somthing cheap, ugly is better.
Anyone know of a local place that has one or happen to have one they want to sell cheap?

I'll sell you one of the single shot Cobray 45LC/410 pistols for $125.
(It's been sitting on my dresser for the last 6 months since I found it in a range bag... I think I've taken it shooting 2x)

You can probably find a better deal if you look hard/long enough though.

Are they made from cast steel or something?? Doesn't look like it'd do much good with a smooth bore and .45LC any more than 5 feet.

What do you consider cheep? I have the exact same one as in the video of the "brainchild" playing around pointing it at the camera.

I have shot exactly two .410 shells thru it the last time I went to the range.

If you want a single barrel then go with the other one listed.....If you want a double barrel send let me know what you consider cheep?

I paid a bit too much for it at the gonzales gun show in the fall of 08.

I will sell it for less than what I paid for it. Since the single barrel is up for $125, I'll sell my double barrel for $150 (no trades)


It shoots nice, I just don't have much use for it like I thought I would.

Okay - inform me of the laws.

If it was a 100% smooth bore, that would be a SBS, correct??

Does it have to be marketed as a "pistol" that just happens to be able to shoot .410 shells - hence the reason why a 20ga isn't legal??

a .410 shotshell will chamber the same as a .45 Long Colt - rifling means that it was designed to be used with a slug and not shot and bypasses the short barrel shotgun problem.

I remember seeing 12 ga models, but I think they were actually considered flare pistols beefy enough for shells. Never saw a 20 ga, and never thought about the laws covering it, guess that is why the .410 skates.

I think the .410 will be enough for 10' shots.

Well the plastic ones suck ass. They aren't made to handle live ammo.

There are flare guns made of metal that could probably handle 12G loads. Still trying to find a brand.

The 12 guage adaptors for some of the latger HK (And others) Flareguns likely.

Don't do it, unsafe etc..

The ones I am thinking of were all metal, but did not look like the greatest stuff to handle a heavy load.
I am going to pick up the cobray double monday, I think it will fit the bill nicely.
A small shop that used to be here in town sold a brand of 410that I cannot remember. They appeared nice and a little on the fancy side. they had sleeves that allowed it to shoot several other pistol calibers and the gun was under $100 a couple years ago. I considered getting one, but saw no use for it at the time.
